We are frequently asked how we make our handmade findings so shiny - tumbling is the answer! While we now employ a large number of tumblers, we still have THIS one from 10 years ago and use it every day.
A tumbler can be used to give findings and finished jewelry a high polish, a satin finish, a matte finish and can also deburr castings, smooth rough surfaces, file marks, rough sawn edges, and even tumble rocks!
This Lortone Model 3A will hold up to 3 pounds of tumbling media plus parts, is quiet and takes up very little room. You will also need some tumbling media and burnishing solution, which we include. The tumbling media is 1 pound of mixed shape steel shot and can be reused indefinitely. The burnishing solution is a concentrate which will make a gallon of solution.
Materials: lortone 3a tumbler, mixed shape steel shot, burnishing solution.
